Our Claremont-Nedlands - 1s came unstuck as they were beaten by South Perth - 1s in a tough outing.
South Perth - 1s set us 229 to win, finishing on 9/228 from 50 overs. Fraser Hay posted a terrific hundred for our opponents, finishing on 119. Jacob Whiteaker was the pick of the bowlers, taking three for 39 off ten overs. Bryn Bursill added two for 30.
Chasing 229, we reached 9/213 from 50 overs. Sean Thompson's 64 off 103 balls was a half-century to remember. Joel Whelan also got among the runs with 41 off 61 balls. Lochie Hardy played a handy knock of 39. Sean Stuart bowled well for the hosts, taking three for 50.
There are plenty of positives to take out of this one.
We'll go again.
