It was a disappointing outing for our Claremont-Nedlands - 2s, who lost out to Bayswater-Morley - 2s on a day that didn't go our way.
Batting first, Bayswater-Morley - 2s posted 8/203 from 50 overs. The hosts' best was a half-century from Tim Smithies, who made 69. Ben Gregory was the pick of the bowlers, taking three for 34 off ten overs. Arun Tibballs bowled cleverly for two for 27.
In reply, we finished on 158 from 41.4 overs. Charlie Walters batted well for 45 off 42 balls with five fours. Harry Saunders also got among the runs with 38 off 76 balls. Five wickets for Lucas Smith of our opponents, who returned five for 28.
Credit to the hosts, who played well.
Chins up, everyone.
