It was a tough day out for our Claremont-Nedlands - 1s, who were unable to stop Melville - 1s at Tompkins 1 on Saturday.
Melville - 1s' innings ended at 8/266, ours at 262. Zeph Netherway's 123 off 135 balls was a century to savour. Lewis Martin did the damage for our opponents with four for 54.
Jacob Whiteaker returned figures of four for 81 off 29 overs. Joshua Fontana made a stylish 73 for the hosts, a well-deserved half-century. Lachlan Farrow passed fifty for our opponents, finishing with 61.
We'll take the lessons from this one and go again. A tough stretch, and one the team will be determined to end.
Chins up, everyone.
